Whether you follow trends or not, the world around you is impacted by color trends each year, and those are influenced by the experts at the Pantone Color Institute. Since 1999, they’ve been naming a Color of the Year, which then finds itself the star of many elements, from the automotive industry through home furnishings. At Treasure Coast Window Fashions, we know that color can be a mystery to many people, so we’re always happy to help our customers determine how to add it to their homes, including the year’s trending color. If you’re curious about what color was chosen, read on to meet it!
Choosing the Color of the Year
“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Through things like trend forecasts and color psychology, the Pantone Color Institute helps global brands design products that call on the power and emotion of color by analyzing trends and understanding the zeitgeist of the times. “The Pantone Color of the Year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that color can hope to answer,” said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. Color is not a designer’s whim. Color trends come from where we are, where we want to go, and how people are feeling or not feeling.
PANTONE Peach Fuzz 13-1023
Obviously, we’ve certainly had some tumultuous times here in the United States and around the world. In response, the Pantone Color Institute chose a “heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration.” Peach Fuzz is a “gentle” peach with an “all-embracing spirit” that “enriches heart, mind, and body.” It is “poetic and romantic…with a vintage vibe” that “has been refashioned with a contemporary ambiance.”
Adding Color in Your Home
Warm, soft, and cozy, Peach Fuzz will bring a welcoming aesthetic to your home. Its comforting presence will add depth and light, enhancing your space with tactile luxury. In your home, consider using Peach Fuzz on your walls, window coverings, custom bedding, accent pieces, or even kitchen gadgets and appliances to create a welcoming cocoon. Consider complementary colors to offset the specific peach hue and to create a complete ambiance. For example, you could get decorative throw pillows in rose and throws in bright yellow. You can find hints of this color or complements to it in a variety of Hunter Douglas window fashions, including Silhouette® Sheer Shades, Designer Roller Shades, and more. Or consider adding side panels or drapery custom-made from custom drapery, which carries a wide assortment of fabrics that will highlight the peach.
